I discovered it when I was working with my group It's a group based for people living in or visiting Stockholm, capital of Sweden, and it mostly consists of pictures from the city, but also some other art including poetry and 3D works. Although the group has many members, sometimes it tends to get a bit slow with the activity, not much happening. So then I look around DA for fresh pictures of the city and invite them to be a part of the group. It doesn't happen often, perhaps twice a month. But then there's usually a large bunch going in. Appreciated both by the artists and the onlookers, who gets to see new views of Stockholm and related art.
And now since a few days back an error has occured. I was sending invitation offers to a lot of nice things when I suddenly got an error message saying: Submission would exceed the global limit of 10 deviations per 1 day.
I never did ad such a limitation. Especially not for myself as an admin / founder. But when I checked the group status, there was a strangulation added for a global limit of 10 works a day. In my own group! Against my will and to a large amount of frustration. And there was no way to remove it, no matter how I tried.
So I took the trouble to helpdesk, asking them to give me a hand. But the response was as usual with DA. "No its not a bug. It's there to prevent spam. So we won't fix it."
Stupidity I say!
I'm not spamming my own group. I'm just keeping it vibrant and healthy. And most of the members like it.
Now my administration of the group has gotten a lot more complicated. Yesterday I asked two other group members, two friends to step in help me out and invite the handful I wanted to invite to the group, and they did, but I cannot ask them all the time. They have their life too, here as well as in other places. So in pure frustration I ended up creating a shadow account - Secret Lin just as a workaround for this error. Worst case scenario is that she'll getting a lot of clone sisters. Best case scenario is that DA fixes the bug so that at least the admins retain full control over their groups again.
Meanwhile, I'm going to eat ice cream and read the latest installment of Riddle of the Labyrinth
The Riddle of the Labyrinth 50- Mizumi's challengeThe day had been a long one, clinging desperately to a depressing grey-green tint, colouring the foaming waves of the river Ergenad a sickly green, pounding them against the jagged rocks of the cove below. Knowing it was Jareth coming through the door even before she heard him, Sarah turned away from the picture window and faced him, brooding what she had to say, quickly going over her words in her mind. His rigid posture made her hesitate though.
"The others are ready for their report so we'll be congregating in my conference room. But first there's one thing you and I need to discuss." He took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"What?" Sarah watched him settling into a chair by a small wooden side table, indicating the opposite one for her. Those chairs were ornate and spindly and more nice looking at than actually sitting in.
"Your conversation with the Alien. Did anything it said to you actually make some sense?"
"To a certain extent," she lifted a resin paper weight from the tab
